Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Sun And Wave by Pirkle Jones for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,039.42). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pirkle Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Portfolio Two', which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,055.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sun And Wave von Pirkle Jones für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.039,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pirkle Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Portfolio Two' beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 14.055,64) versteigert wurde.
