Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crabs and bread on pewter platters, peaches and other fruit in a porcelain bowl, a salt vessel, a jug, a roemer and a knife, on a draped table by Pieter Claesz was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,993.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Claesz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,144,730.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Crabs and bread on pewter platters, peaches and other fruit in a porcelain bowl, a salt vessel, a jug, a roemer and a knife, on a draped table von Pieter Claesz wurde im Juli 2013 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.805.000,00 (€ 2.144.730,48).
