Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work A Roemer, An Overturned Pewter Jug, Olives Half-Peeled Lemon On Pewter Plates by Pieter Claesz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 956,750.00 (€ 1,067,586.08), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Claesz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,144,730.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Roemer, An Overturned Pewter Jug, Olives Half-Peeled Lemon On Pewter Plates von Pieter Claesz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 956.750,00 (€ 1.067.586,08) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Claesz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge beobachtet, die im Juli 2016 für GBP 1.805.000,00 (€ 2.144.730,48) versteigert wurde.
