This artwork by Paul Wonner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work View of Malibu sold for USD 151,200.00 (€ 128,757.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Wonner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life With Cup sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of USD 324,000.00 (€ 240,838.47).
