Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Flowers in Bottles: Carnation II, 2000 by Paul Wonner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,119.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Wonner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Cup in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 324,000.00 (€ 240,838.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers in Bottles: Carnation II, 2000 von Paul Wonner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.119,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Wonner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With Cup im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 324.000,00 (€ 240.838,47).
