Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lounge Ii by Paul Winstanley was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,133.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Winstanley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior (Boodles), which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 26,567.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lounge Ii von Paul Winstanley kam im März 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.133,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Winstanley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior (Boodles) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 26.567,22) versteigert wurde.
