Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Veil 3 by Paul Winstanley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,824.82). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Winstanley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior (Boodles), which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 26,567.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Veil 3 von Paul Winstanley im Juli 2014 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.824,82) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Winstanley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior (Boodles) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 26.567,22) versteigert wurde.
