Auction result well in line with expectations
The work OCT.20,1992 by On Kawara was auctioned at Phillips in London in October this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 342,900.00 (€ 393,744.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by On Kawara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Decade) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit OCT.20,1992 von On Kawara kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 342.900,00 (€ 393.744,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von On Kawara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14).
