Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work OCT. 27, 1982 ("Wednesday.") from Today series, 1966–2013 by On Kawara for USD 3,800,000.00 (€ 3,681,100.46). This price was achieved in the auction 21st Century Evening Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by On Kawara have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2017 by the work Untitled (Decade) at USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14).

Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit OCT. 27, 1982 ("Wednesday.") from Today series, 1966–2013 von On Kawara für USD 3.800.000,00 (€ 3.681.100,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von On Kawara wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2017 die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) mit USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14).
