A top price for On Kawara
In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Untitled (Decade) by On Kawara. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14), 39% above the upper estimate. With this result, Untitled (Decade) is even the most expensive work of art by On Kawara that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) von On Kawara zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Untitled (Decade) sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von On Kawara, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
