Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work I Am Still Alive by On Kawara was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,705.02). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by On Kawara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Decade) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,175,000.00 (€ 3,715,735.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit I Am Still Alive von On Kawara wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.705,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von On Kawara erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Decade) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.175.000,00 (€ 3.715.735,14).
