Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Mechanized Farming (1) by Norman Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,320.00 (€ 35,722.51), 15% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ritual in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,780,000.00 (€ 2,522,914.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mechanized Farming (1) von Norman Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 35.722,51) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ritual im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.780.000,00 (€ 2.522.914,97).
