Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Norman Lewis was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,590.00 (€ 20,398.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norman Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ritual in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,780,000.00 (€ 2,522,914.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Norman Lewis kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.590,00 (€ 20.398,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norman Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ritual im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.780.000,00 (€ 2.522.914,97).
