Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Soundsuit by Nick Cave. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,581.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Nick Cave have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2021 the work Soundsuit was auctioned for USD 189,000.00 (€ 154,994.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Soundsuit von Nick Cave zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 78.581,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Nick Cave konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2021 die Arbeit Soundsuit für USD 189.000,00 (€ 154.994,26) versteigert.
