Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included this untitled work by Nick Cave. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,357.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nick Cave - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Soundsuit, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 189,000.00 (€ 154,994.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Nick Cave zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 46.357,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Nick Cave mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Soundsuit beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 189.000,00 (€ 154.994,26) versteigert wurde.
