In March 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Boo by Nick Cave. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,000.00 (€ 68,002.54), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nick Cave - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Soundsuit, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 189,000.00 (€ 154,994.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boo von Nick Cave zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 68.002,54) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Nick Cave mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Soundsuit beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 189.000,00 (€ 154.994,26) versteigert wurde.
