Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work ...And I Was Here by Miroslav Balka was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,347.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Miroslav Balka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 180 X 40 X 142 in April 2018 with an auction result of EUR 60,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit ...And I Was Here von Miroslav Balka im September 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.347,70) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Miroslav Balka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 180 X 40 X 142 im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.000,00.
