Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Steel Jaws) by Miroslav Balka was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,016.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Miroslav Balka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 180 X 40 X 142, which sold at auction in April 2018 for EUR 60,000.00.

Die Arbeit Untitled (Steel Jaws) von Miroslav Balka kam im November 2019 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.016,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Miroslav Balka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 180 X 40 X 142 beobachtet, die im April 2018 für EUR 60.000,00 versteigert wurde.
