A top price for Milo Matthieu
When the work Los Siete Infantes by Milo Matthieu was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at USD 176,400.00 (€ 152,371.08). This high result makes Los Siete Infantes the most expensive artwork by Milo Matthieu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Los Siete Infantes von Milo Matthieu im September 2021 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 176.400,00 (€ 152.371,08) mehr als achtmal so hoch.
