This artwork by Milo Matthieu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in April last year. In the New Now auction, the work A Letter sold for GBP 56,700.00 (€ 67,612.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Milo Matthieu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Los Siete Infantes, which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 176,400.00 (€ 152,371.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Milo Matthieu erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit A Letter für GBP 56.700,00 (€ 67.612,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Milo Matthieu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Los Siete Infantes beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 176.400,00 (€ 152.371,08) versteigert wurde.
