Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work BB 10/19/09-90642 by Mike and Doug Starn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,169.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Mike and Doug Starn have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2008 the work Trees was auctioned for USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,438.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit BB 10/19/09-90642 von Mike and Doug Starn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.169,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Mike and Doug Starn konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2008 die Arbeit Trees für USD 16.250,00 (€ 10.438,08) versteigert.
