This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Portfolio at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mike and Doug Starn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trees, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,438.08).
