It achieved a price of USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 73%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Miguel Covarrubias achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Preparation Of A Balinese Ceremony in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 8,440,000.00 (€ 868,922.59).

Die Arbeit Madre y niño von Miguel Covarrubias kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 73%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Miguel Covarrubias erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Preparation Of A Balinese Ceremony im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.440.000,00 (€ 868.922,59).
