Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Miguel Covarrubias could be acquired at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Discovery on Sunset auction, the work Tehauntepec River changed hands for USD 178.50 (€ 167.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Miguel Covarrubias achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Preparation Of A Balinese Ceremony in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 8,440,000.00 (€ 868,922.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Miguel Covarrubias konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Discovery on Sunset wechselte die Arbeit Tehauntepec River für USD 178,50 (€ 167,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Miguel Covarrubias erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Preparation Of A Balinese Ceremony im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.440.000,00 (€ 868.922,59).
