Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work VII-11, from 45°, 90°, 180° by Michael Heizer was auctioned at Christies in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,257.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Heizer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Track Painting in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,109,000.00 (€ 982,546.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit VII-11, from 45°, 90°, 180° von Michael Heizer im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.257,71) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Heizer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Track Painting im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.109.000,00 (€ 982.546,29).
