A top price for Michael Heizer - as previously expected
The work Track Painting by Michael Heizer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,109,000.00 (€ 982,546.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Track Painting is the most expensive artwork by Michael Heizer that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Track Painting von Michael Heizer kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.109.000,00 (€ 982.546,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Track Painting das teuerste Kunstwerk von Michael Heizer, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
