Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Melle could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Bird and insects in a landscape changed hands for EUR 358.50 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Melle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bird on stilts in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 10,755.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Melle konnte im September 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Bird and insects in a landscape für EUR 358,50 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Melle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bird on stilts im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.755,00.
