Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A bowl of fruit by Melle for EUR 293.75. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Melle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bird on stilts in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 10,755.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A bowl of fruit von Melle für EUR 293,75 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Melle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bird on stilts im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.755,00.
