Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work An erotic fantasy by Melle. The price achieved of EUR 1,762.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,400.00 – 2,200.00. Admittedly, works by Melle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A bird on stilts in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 10,755.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit An erotic fantasy von Melle zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.762,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.400,00 – 2.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Melle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A bird on stilts im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.755,00.
