Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Adam and Eve by Matthew Wong. The price achieved of USD 375,000.00 (€ 332,240.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Wong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Night Watcher in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,897,150.00 (€ 5,495,433.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Adam and Eve von Matthew Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 332.240,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Wong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Night Watcher im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.897.150,00 (€ 5.495.433,79).
