Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work The Road by Matthew Wong. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 35,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 36,145,000.00 (€ 4,232,209.81). Other works by Matthew Wong have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 5,897,150.00 (€ 5,495,433.79) in May last year for the work The Night Watcher.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Road von Matthew Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 35.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 36.145.000,00 (€ 4.232.209,81) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Matthew Wong haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.897.150,00 (€ 5.495.433,79) im Mai letzten Jahres für die Arbeit The Night Watcher beobachtet.
