Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Martin Wong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Some Call It Par-A-Dice sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,752.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Wong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Quong Yuen Shing & Co. in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,260,375.00 (€ 1,174,517.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Wong erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Some Call It Par-A-Dice für USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.752,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Wong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Quong Yuen Shing & Co. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.260.375,00 (€ 1.174.517,75).
