In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Mark Rothko. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,549,400.00 (€ 4,550,926.69), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Rothko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work No. 10 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86).

Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Rothko zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.549.400,00 (€ 4.550.926,69) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Rothko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit No. 10 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.925.000,00 (€ 74.517.918,86).
