Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In Limbo by Mark Rothko was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 164,175.00 (€ 159,038.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Rothko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work No. 10 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In Limbo von Mark Rothko wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 164.175,00 (€ 159.038,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Rothko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit No. 10 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.925.000,00 (€ 74.517.918,86).
