Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included this untitled work by Mark Rothko. The price achieved of USD 17,565,000.00 (€ 17,015,402.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000,000.00 – 20,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mark Rothko have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work No. 10 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Rothko zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.565.000,00 (€ 17.015.402,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000.000,00 – 20.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Rothko auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit No. 10 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.925.000,00 (€ 74.517.918,86).
