Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mark Rothko achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work without title sold for USD 716,000.00 (€ 637,521.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Rothko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work No. 10 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Rothko erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 716.000,00 (€ 637.521,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Rothko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit No. 10 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.925.000,00 (€ 74.517.918,86).
