Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Diosa del mar by Mario Carreño was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 352,800.00 (€ 328,767.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mario Carreño have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Diosa del mar von Mario Carreño kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 328.767,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mario Carreño auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cortadores De Caña im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48).
