This artwork by Mario Carreño achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Eva tropical sold for USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Carreño achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mario Carreño erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Eva tropical für USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Carreño erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cortadores De Caña im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48).
