Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Desnudos con mangos by Mario Carreño was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 277,200.00 (€ 258,317.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mario Carreño have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).

Die Arbeit Desnudos con mangos von Mario Carreño wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 277.200,00 (€ 258.317,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mario Carreño auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cortadores De Caña im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48).
