This artwork by Marilyn Minter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Shit-Kicker sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marilyn Minter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wave, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 269,000.00 (€ 250,442.23).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marilyn Minter erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Shit-Kicker für USD 107.100,00 (€ 99.804,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marilyn Minter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wave beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 269.000,00 (€ 250.442,23) versteigert wurde.
