Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Works on Paper and Day Sale Morning including The Analytical Eye: The Branco Weiss Collection, which included the work Le Monogramme by María Blanchard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 156,985.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by María Blanchard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Joueur De Luth, which sold at auction in June 2012 for GBP 457,250.00 (€ 566,184.36).
