Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included this untitled work by Marc Vaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,347.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Vaux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 19,492.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Marc Vaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.347,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Marc Vaux mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 19.492,88) versteigert wurde.
