Sir Denys Lasdun (1914-2001) was an eminent English architect, celebrated for his commitment to Modernist ideals and his contribution to the British urban landscape. Having started his career at Wells Coates’ practice, he would go on to build 32 Newton Road, a house in Paddington which strictly followed Le Corbusier’s domino principle, and would later become Ronald Searle’s residence. Lasdun’s social commitment was demonstrated in commissions for Hallfield Primary School, cluster blocks

The work SQ FO Series 3. by Marc Vaux was sold in the Modern/British Art Online auction at Christies in London in November 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,689.23), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marc Vaux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 19,492.88).

Die Arbeit SQ FO Series 3. von Marc Vaux wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Modern/British Art Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.689,23) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Vaux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 19.492,88).
