Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work The World for a Wilderness by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,048.00 (€ 3,048.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Highpower in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,482,000.00 (€ 1,726,513.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit The World for a Wilderness von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.048,00 (€ 3.048,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Highpower im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.482.000,00 (€ 1.726.513,59).
