The work Wishes Above Needs by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 453,600.00 (€ 516,057.62), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highpower, which sold at auction in October last year for GBP 1,482,000.00 (€ 1,726,513.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Wishes Above Needs von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 453.600,00 (€ 516.057,62) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lynette Yiadom-Boakye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highpower beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für GBP 1.482.000,00 (€ 1.726.513,59) versteigert wurde.
