Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Lucas Samaras was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,567.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Samaras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Box #119 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 564,165.89).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lucas Samaras kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.567,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Samaras erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Box #119 im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.500,00 (€ 564.165,89).
