Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Photo-Transformation, 7/30/76 by Lucas Samaras. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,560.00 (€ 7,174.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Samaras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Box #119 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 564,165.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Photo-Transformation, 7/30/76 von Lucas Samaras zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.560,00 (€ 7.174,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Samaras erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Box #119 im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.500,00 (€ 564.165,89).
