Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Large Drawing #18 by Lucas Samaras for USD 7,040.00 (€ 6,453.98). This price was achieved in the auction Dance of Death at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Samaras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Box #119 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 564,165.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Large Drawing #18 von Lucas Samaras für USD 7.040,00 (€ 6.453,98) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Dance of Death bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Samaras erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Box #119 im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.500,00 (€ 564.165,89).
