In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A visit from the vet by Leonid Baikov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 576.00 (€ 843.34), 15% above the upper estimate. Other works by Leonid Baikov have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,581.26) in April 2007 for the work Two steam boats; The quay at sunset; Crossing the river; Departing from the dock; Mending the boat; and On the banks of the river.
