This artwork by Leonid Baikov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2007. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction, the work The Peter and Paul factory, St Petersberg sold for GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,493.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Leonid Baikov; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two steam boats; The quay at sunset; Crossing the river; Departing from the dock; Mending the boat; and On the banks of the river sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,581.26).
